My great grandfather, O.D.Henderson of Red Lick, Station Camp, Estill County had a mother named Elinor Henderson, 37 F, born 1813 in Ky., according to the 1850 census. Her children were: Orthinile Dudley, 20 M; Josua T., 17 M; Martha J., 15 F; Abram, 11 M; William D., 9 M.
We have not been able to find her maiden name or the first name of her Henderson husband. Our Henderson link to the past stops with Elinor.
O.D. and his brothers founded the O.D. Henderson Lodge #437 F&AM on Red Lick Road. They met in O.D.'s grocery store for the first two years. O.D. and his wife Cynthia Ann (Cox) donated the land that the present lodge building sits on. His youngest son Hebbert Henderson became a distinguised Mason and was the Grand Master of the Commonwealth of Kentucky in 1934-1935. Each succeding generation of Hendersons have been represented in Masonry.
