Many lines of my family run through Fleming County at one time or another. I would appreciate any input on any of these lines.
Fleming Robertson Hopins born 1900, Fleming Co was the son of George Washington Hopkins born 1865, Fleming County and Sarah H Saunders born 1870, Fleming County. George W Hopkins was the son of James William Hopkins born 1838, Fleming County and Eliza Jane Jones born 1842, Fleming County. James William Hopkins was the son of James (William?) Hopkins born February 22, 1797, Kentucky and Kerilla Weaver born December 17, 1807. James was the son of David Hopkins born January 21, 1761, Delaware and Rhoda Collins born in Pennsylvania. David Hopkins fought in the Revolutionary War and died March 28, 1843 in Fleming County. The sirte of his grave is unknown. His son James died May 3, 1869. His grave site is also unknown. James William Hopkins died in 1904 in Marion, Indiana and is buried there. His son George Washington Hopkins died in Texas, but was brought to Marion, Indiana to be buried. Fleming Hopkins died in 1962 and is also buried in Marion, Indiana.
Flemings's mother Sarah Saunders is the daughter of Eli T Saunders born 1838 and Ziphilia A Arnold born 1834 in KY. Eli Saunders was the son of Moses Saunders born August 20, 1792 in KY and Ruth Stewart born 1809 in KY. Moses was the son of Gunnell Saunders born March 10, 1747 or 1748, Fairfax County, VA and Ellenor Robinson born 1740 to 1750 in Georgia. Gunnell Saunders was the son of James Saunders born 1719 in Scotland and Sarah Gunnell born 1710. James and Sarah both died in Fairfax County, Va. Gunnell Saunders died June 2, 1825 in Fleming County, KY. Moses Saunders died February 25,1870 in Fleming County and his wife Ruth died February 3, 1875 in Fleming County. Eli Saunders died October 16, 1870, Fleming Co. and his wife Ziphilia died in 1918 in Fleming Co. Sarah Saunders died December 24, 1913in Fleming Co.
Eliza Jane Jones born August 7, 1842 in Fleming Co was the daughter of James L Jones born 1795 in Virginia and Lucinda Watson born November 17, 1815, Kentucky. James Jones is the son of John Jones born 1762 in Virginia. He is believed to be the son of another John Jones. Eliza Jane Jones died in 1876 in Fleming Co and Lucinda Watson died in 1886 also in Fleming Co. The parents of Lucinda Watson are unknown.
Ruth Stewart was born in 1809 in Kentucky and died February 3, 1875, Fleming Co. She was the daughter of James Stewart born 1788 in KY and Nancy (last name unknown) born 1792 in Virginia. James was the son of Robert Stewart who married Ellenor Darnall born 1754 in Ireland.
Zilphlia A Arnold born 1834 in KY and died in 1918 in Fleming Co. was the daughter of Lewis Arnold born 1807, KY and Nancy Rankin born 1809 in Virginia. Lewis Arnold was the son of Thompson Arnold born 1789, VA and Susan L Holland born 1788, Maryland. Susan Holland was the daughter of Benjamin B Holland born December 25, 1753, MD and Ailsa Benson born 1760. Thompson Arnold, Lewis Arnold, and Nancy Rankin died in Fleming Co. The parents of Nancy Rankins are unknown.
Fleming R Hopkins married Vada Bruce Alexander born 1904, Fleming Co. She was the daughter of Benjamin Franklin Alexander born 1868, Fleming CO. and Melinda Frances McIntire born 1870, Fleming Co. Benjamin was the son of William David Alexander born 1838, Fleming Co. and Mary Elizabeth McIntyre born 1844, Fleming Co. William Alexanders was the son of oland G Alexander born 1807, KY and Lavina V Sousley born 1812, KY. Roland G was the son of James Alexander born 1778, North Carolina and Mary Payne. James was the son of Roland Alexander born 1740, Maryland and Eleanor Murdoch born 1753. Roland is believed to be the son of James Alexander who was born in Maryland. and Rosanna Chambers. The elder Roland Alexander died in 1818, Fleming Co. and James, Roland G, William D, and Benjamin F Alexander are all buried in Fleming County, KY.
Mary Elizabeth McIntyre was the daughter of James B McIntyre born 1822 and Dorinda Duffey. James B is believed to be the son of James McIntyre. The parents of Dorinda Duffey are unknown.
Lovina V Sousley was the daughter of George David Sousley born in Pennsylvania and Isabella Cochran. Isabella was the daughter of Robert Cochran born 1740 and Nancy Rowland born 1750. Both died in Fleming Co. as did George David Sousley in 1831.
Melinda Frances McIntire was the daughter of William John McIntire born 1838, Fleming Co. and Elizabeth S Sousley born 1840, Fleming Co. William John McIntire was the son of Joseph Mcintire and Keziah Soulsey born 1814. Joseph was believed to be the son of William McIntire born 1776, VA and Mary (last anme unknown) born 1780, VA. Keziah Sousley was the daughter of Phillip Sousley born 1795, Maryland and Jane Harmon, parents unkonwn.
Elizabeth S Sousley born 1840, Fleming Co. was the daughter of Franklin P Sousley born 1808, Fleming Co and Susan Peck born 1819, Fleming Co. Franklin was the son of George David Sousley born in PA and Isabella Cochran died 1836.
Susan Peck died Fleming County, 1899 was the daughter of Daniel Peck, Junior born 1787 and Elizabeth Kirk, parents unknown. Daniel Peck, Junior was the son of Daniel Peck born 1753, Holland or Germany and Susan Eckhardt born 1758.
The Riddles are from my mother's side of the family and are found in the area of Fleming County that later became Rowan County. Hattie P Riddle born 1908, Rowan County, KY was the daughter of Johnnie Riddle born 1888, Rowan County and Elizabeth Loveless born 1888, Rowan County. Johnnie Riddle was the son of Commodore Riddle born 1848, KY and Amanda Nickell born 1853, KY. Commodore was the son of John Riddle born 1801, KY and Mary Adeline (last name unknown) born 1813, New York.
Elizabeth Loveless was the daughter of James Loveless and Fannie Meredith Black. Fannie Black was the daughter of James Black, a physician.
Amanda Nickell was the daughter of Greenup Nickell born 1826, KY and Dulcina (last name unknown) born 1827, KY. Greenup Nickell's mother's names is believed to be Eleanor (last name unknown) born 1776, VA.
