Mr. Joseph Leon Altman, son of the late Mr. Virgil Altman and Mrs. Mary Bell Altman, was born March 31, 1906, in Kuhn, Oklahoma, and departed this life Tuesday, December 10, 1996, at the Taylor County Hospital in Campbellsville. He was 90 years, eight months and 11 days of age. He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Summersville Baptist Church at the time of his death. He united in marriage to Miss Edna Noe December 25, 1925, who preceded him in death June 11 1981. To this union were born two daughters and four sons: Elizabeth Altman, Sybil Milby, V.T. Altman, all of Greensburg; Joseph Altman, Lexington; Robbie Altman, Louisville, and Ray Altman, Campbellsville. Mr. Altman is also survived by one sister, Virginia Patterson, Louisville; five brothers: C.H. "Hut" Altman, Edwin Altman and Olyn Altman, all of Greensburg; Sam Altman, Springfield, Illinois, and Estill Altman, Scottsville; nine grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by two brothers: Frank and Elroy Altman. The funeral for Mr. Joseph Leon Altman was conducted at 10 a.m. Friday, December 13, at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home with burial in the Bennett Cemetery. Rev. Larry Noe and Rev. Jerry Noe officiated. Pallbearers were Greg Altman, Ricky Altman, Jody Altman, Tommy Hughes, Richard Curry, Ray Altman, Jr., Steve Hughes and Frank Coffey.
