Mrs. Mary Rose Lain, 79, Star Rt. Campbellsville, died at the Methodist Evangelical Hospital in Louisville, Sun. 5 Sept [1971]. Mrs. Lain lived in the New Mac Community. Born in Green Co. 27 Feb 1898, she was the daughter of Caroline and Eli Nelson, both deceased. October 16, 1919 she was married to Rev. Lewis H. Lain who died 10 Jul 1971. She is survived by the following children, Harry Lain, Texas; Mrs. Virginia (Edgar) Morrison, Valley Station, Ky; Eugene Lain, Detroit, Mich.; Mrs. Betty (Bennie) Duvall, Lorace Lain and Mrs. Rose Mary (Clarence) Reed, all of Louisville and Mrs. Pansey (Dewey) Lindsey, Irwin, Tenn. Also surviving are 19 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren; 4 brothers, Chester, Ben, Henry and Albert Nelson all of Middletown, Ill. and 1 sister, Mrs. Catherine Morrison, Springfield, Ill. Funeral services were conducted at the Gospel Assembly Church in Campbellsville Wed. 8 Sept at 2:00 pm by Rev. Rex Garr, Rev. George Blevins and Charlie Gilbert. Burial was in the Beams Family Cem. in Taylor Co. with the Lyon Funeral Home in charge. Pallbearers were: Otis Underwood, Dutch Warren, Henry Druien, Clarence Riggs, Will Ernest Skaggs, Donald Wright and Tom Gilbert.
