Daniel E. Barber, 69, of Chillicothe, Ohio died at 10:50 p.m. Sunday, March 31, 2013 at his residence following an extended illness.
He was born November 14, 1943, in Wurtland, Kentucky, (Greenup County) to the late Willard and Zella Fannin Barber.
Daniel served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War.
He retired from the Mead Corporation.
Daniel was a member of the Jefferson Avenue CCCU, U.P.I.U. Local 731 and American Legion Post 62.
On February 10, 2006, he married the former Thelma J. Williamson who survives; also surviving are children, Debra (Paul) Hager-Kitzmiller, Kim Ferrell, Vickie Carver, all of Chillicothe, Ohio and Nicole (Mark) Bennington, of Lucasville, OH; seven grandchildren; six great grandchildren; brothers, P. Vernon (Frances) Barber, of Ashland, KY and Rex (Debbie) Fannin, of Frankfort; several nieces and nephews and many friend.
He was predeceased by a brother, Lewis E. Barber.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, April 4, 2013 in the Jefferson Avenue CCCU with Pastor Mark Clendaniel officiating.
Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery where military graveside rites will be conducted by the Ross County, Ohio Veterans Honor Guard.
Friends may call at the church from 12 noon to 2 p.m. prior to the service on Thursday.
Arrangements are under the direction of the WARE FUNERAL HOME.
