GRANVILLE: Mary Helen Oakleaf, age 82, of Granville, Ohio (Licking County) passed away Wednesday, October 2, 2013 at Riverside Methodist Hospital, Columbus, Ohio.
She was born January 16, 1931 in Greenup County, Kentucky to the late Martin and Hazel (Arthurs) Hanners.
Mary was a very loving mother to her four children.
She was active in the McKean School PTO and various projects - the McKean Twp. Donut Booth at the Hartford Fair and with her good friend, Gloria Hoover with the Granville Lifestyle Museum.
She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Kenneth; three children, Greg S. (Peg) Oakleaf, Keith M. Oakleaf and Gina (Donald) Hughes; a daughter-in-law, Margaret Oakleaf; 12 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, David Oakleaf; a daughter-in-law, Mallory Oakleaf; two brothers, Marvin T. and George W. Hanners; and two sisters, Jamie Ruth Hanners and Corena M. Staugh.
At her request no service or calling hours will be observed.
Inurnment will take place at a later date at Newark Memorial Gardens, Newark, Ohio.
The Newark Chapel of Henderson-Van Atta-Stickle Funeral & Cremation Service, 59 North Fifth Street, Newark, is assisting the family with arrangements.
