my husban's great grandfather, "Boney"Turner was involved in the feud. His brothers, George("Little George"), Will, John and Robert were all killed in this feud. Boney left Harlan in 1889, to escape being killed, went to VA, were he married Alpha Dona Cox, and became a constable. He was killed by a train after coming home from July 4th celebration in Big Stone Gap in 1899. We always suspected that some of the Howards killed him and placed him on the track. The Howards had vowed to kill them all. Their father, George Brittain Turner, was a lawyer and judge in Harlan, and is buried at Resthaven Cemetary. We are hoping to find out where the sons are buried.
