Recently I purchased some postcards that apparently were produced by Maurice D. Metzger, whom I assume is/was a local artist. Each card had a nice reproduction of a painting that was cut out and then pasted onto a blank postcard, with a hand written caption. Could anyone shed any more light on these postcards, such as how long they were produced and how many subjects were covered?
Also, one of the postcards shows a house along US41 in Mortons Gap, and the caption says the road is occassionally known as the "Butterwell Road" (or at least that's what I believe the handwriting says). Has anyone ever heard this name used before.
Any information would be appreciated!
