Herbert "Lum" Edwards, Age 93 of Hamilton, OH passed away on September 21, 2007 at Hospice of Hamilton at Sunrise. He was born on December 19, 1913 the son of the late Henry and Sudie (Frazier) Edwards. He graduated from the Jackson County, KY Public schools and served in the United States Army during World War II. Lum married Mary Elizabeth Johnson on December 24, 1941 in Hazard, KY and she preceded him in death on November 19, 1994. Lum was employed at Fernald National Lead as an electrician and a member of the Redeemer United Church of Christ. He was also a member of the Washington Lodge #17 F&AM, Scottish Rite Valley of Cincinnati Syrian Temple, Kentucky Colonel, Charter member of the Fairfield Township Zoning Board, Hamilton Shrine Club Past President, Desert Club Charter member, Antique Car Caravan, FOPA, member of the Fairfield Township Fire Department for over 50 years, and was awarded Man of the Year in Butler County, Hamilton, and Fairfield Township. Lum is survived by his children Sharon Schrudder and her husband Jack of Hamilton and Joe Edwards and his wife Ruth of Shaffer, PA, Christina Shepherd and her husband David, Maribeth Schrudder, Joe Edwards, Heather Edwards, and Holly Edwards, and four great grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by two brothers Elmer and Glenn, and a sister Audrey Crouch. Funeral services will be held on September 26, 2007 at 10:00a.m. at The Webb Noonan Funeral Home, Ross Avenue and "D" Street with Rev. Kim L. Katterheinrich of the Redeemer Church officiating. Visitation will be on September 25, 2007 from 5:00 until 8:00p.m. Masonic and Ring services will be held at 7:00p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Rose Hill Burial Park. The family suggests that memorials be directed to the Shriner Burns Institute 3229 Burnet Avenue Cincinnati, OH 45229-3095. The family wishes to express their appreciation for all the care and support given by the Dixon family, Jennifer, Gina, and Cari, the staff at Chesterwood Village, and to Dr. William Krall.
