I am researching my gr gr grandfather's relatives. Elias Halbleib who was born in Bavaria -- came to the U. S. and served in the Civil War. I noticed on the 1870 U. S. Census that there was listed a Edwin Halbleib and wife Lina. Place of birth. Bavaria/Bayern living in Louisville Ward 3, Jefferson KY. Children, Edwin, Louis, Emilie and Clara. A Jos Middendorf (birthplace) Prussia was living with them...this may not be significant... I wondered if there may have been Halbleib relatives in your area who would have info on any of the Halbleibs... Also, there is an old photo of a gentleman, Harry Hagel, that was in my gr gr grandfather's possesion... We wondered who he might be...
