I am searching for a marriage of Joseph Patterson, born 1908, in Sacramento, Mclean county, Kentucky. He married a Bonnie Krieg, born 1908, Kentucky in appox. in Louisville about 1927-29. any information would be good. Also there is a 1930 census in Louisville that shows they were married with one daughter, a Joe Dean Patterson.

thanks, Jim

Family Search states that an Araminta D. WILSON was buried at Louisville on 11-14-1886. The name, date and burial location fit well for a woman I am looking for. Her husband was William WILSON. He may have died about the same time period. Little is known about him. I am hoping to learn the name of the cemetery Araminta is in. Any other details would be delightful. There are no known children for this couple. Her maiden name was HAMPTON.

Thanks for any help!

Mitch

Louisville & Jefferson County Baptist/Methodist Orphanages in the 1880's

I am researching to find my Grt Gma's real/birth parents. I know she was born in Lousiville, KY on 10 Sep 1880. I have found her name (one of her adopted surnames) mentioned as having been at a 'Baptist Orphan Home'. And, I know she was adopted by a Methodist minister sometime between 1893 - 1894.
Does anyone know just how many Baptist Orphanages there were in Louisville and the rest of Jefferson County back in the 1880's? Also, the complete full names of these homes.
Since she was adopted by a Methodist minister; I suspect she may have spent some time in a Methodist Orphanage. So, the same question would apply for Methodist Orphanages...how many were there, and the complete full names of them, in Louisville and the rest of Jefferson County, in the 1880's
If anyone knows, please contact me at mustang37778@comcast.net

Thanks!
Yes this is the right family. This info was put out in 1998 by William C Mills sometimes Bill Mills. If I could find him I think I could get Mattie home.
It's a mystery! But someone out there knows.
I'm pretty sure I saw that Bill was from Arkansas.
I'm assuming that he has passed on because I haven't seen anything out of him forever.
Mattie's daughter married a man named Alpha M(can't remember). He remarried a child after she died in Oklahoma and I couldn't find any kids. Only from his Native American child bride named Bozarth if I remember right.
I can't explain to you why but since I found the picture of Mattie Mills Sutton in a box of junk at an auction shes been on my mind. I promised her I'd get her home. I'm in Louisville right now where she had her dress shop. Nothing to do but go thru 3333 message boards to see what I can find. Thanks for the help. There's a book out there from Arkansas Mills about their Kentucky ancestors. My answer r probably in the book. Need to find it.

Is this info on your family ???? (see below)

1875 Mattie SUTTON and her daughter were living at Louisville, Jefferson Co., KY with Thomas B. MILLS and his family and continued to live with them for many years. Mattie SUTTON was in business as a Dressmaker at Louisville for marry years and hired many of her relatives. Some research stated that Thatcher as well as Lula were born in Clinton Co. KY and that they were married their. This is contrary to the official records of the Offfice of Vital Statisics of KY. Thatcher never showed up in any records I could find. Thomas B, MILLS and family lived at Southfork, LaRue Co. from 1846 till 1860, and there was a Sutton family within 3 miles of them up the river and another three miles down the river. I could not find Thatcher in the 1850 Census. If you run across Thatcher SUTTON let me hear from you.

If u go back to William or Bill mills way back in 1998 you find the story if "my" Mattie Mills Sutton but I can not find him. A lot of these Mills ended up in Arkansas and if I remember right Williams father was Thomas or John. I saw a notice if the death of a William Mills in 2009 but it disappeared so quickly off the screen that I don't know anything else and I can't find it again. This William Mills would have been born in the early 1900s. If you know of him please let me know. He seemed to b the keeper of the flame.
Thank you for answering me. Mattie wants to go home!

I have a Mae Mills (she was 1st married to Fischer) that I cannot find after 1927. She married Henry Mills & they lived in Jefferson Co., KY in 1920 then moved to Chicago, IL where Henry died in 1927.

Her maiden name was listed as Lawrence on one record and Morgan on census???

Do you think the daughter would still be alive? If not, do a search with mother's name only and maybe you will find a death record (death cert. usually list mother & father's names)

Good luck!

Was his father Hezekiah King, Mother Sarah ? I know this family emigrated from Wales to Maryland then spent time in Virginia moved on to Lewis co, KY next Indiana and finally Iowa. Real pioneer spirits.
I found them on the 1820 and 1830 census in Elksburg, Lewis, KY. Next I have them on the 1850 census in Indiana and 1860 in Des Moines, IA.
His youngest daughter, Sidney, who married George Williams in 1857 in Iowa. They are my line. They had a son named William but my chart says he was born in 1804 in Virginia so doesn't sound like the same like but could be related?

According to the SSI my grandfather Paul William Holland Sr was born 13 Nov 1913. However, I can find no birth record in the name index, by mother index, and have even sent the request to Frankfort and they can not find it. Does anyone have any other suggestions that I could try?

I was amazed.. They mailed it to me. I found out things that were only listed in that record.. no where else.

I am trying to find the parents of Nicholas Snyder according to his death certificate he was born in 1873 in Ohio, but I am not sure if that is correct. He died 30 Mar 1948 in Louisville, KY. He married a Mary Christine Higgins who was born in 1880 in Louisville. According to the 1900 census Nicholas and Mary were married in 1898 and had 7 kids, 5 of which survived to adulthood. Nicholas' middle name is possibly Thomas as his son is known as Nicholas Thomas Snyder Jr. Any information would be helpful. Thanks
