Have researched the subject of the Donner Party for years now. One person whom played such a huge part in the ordeal, wither it was walking back and forth from the Lake to Alder Creek to help the Donners or making sure so many were taken care of hasn't been talked about that much in history. I am very interested to learn about his past and family background. Name was Miltford Elliott and he was a teamster and good friend of the Reed family. He was 28 years old at the time of his death. Was 4 years younger then Mrs. Reed, which would put his birth year about 1817or 1888. If anyone has any information on Miltford "Milt" Elliott or his family it would be greatly appreciated.
