Searching for the children of James Dean (1750-1838), and Patience Holeman Dean (1765-1846), who were early settlers of Jessamine County. Need to know if they had a son by the name of Thomas H. Dean (1799-???). Would appreciate any information or leads.

ref your question about children of James and Patience Dean, I have a Mary Dean of Jessamine County who was married to Jefferson Napoleon Horine in Jessamine County by Moses Hoover on 19 April 1826. Her birthdate is 19 July 1805 and d.Aug 1875. Unfortunately, I don't have her parents, but she could have the parents listed in your query.

Several of James and Patience Dean's children moved to Indiana. Keziah Dean-McCune lived in Orange County, Indiana. Nancy Dean-Kearby also lived in Orange County, Indiana. Squire Dean lived in Pike County, Indiana. Its possible the mother of Mary was Elizabeth. I don't have a spouse for her. Maybe she was married to J.N. Horine ??? Of course its also possible Mary was the daughter of another Dean family in Jessamine County. I am not familiar with any other Jessamine County, Dean families, but I think there were others besides the family of James and Patience. Good luck in your search.

Well I can see that my Mary Dean is not the child of Patience and James. I gather that Dean is a significant family name in Jessamine Co. My Mary Dean b. 19 Jul 1805
was married to DR Jefferson Napoleon Horine 18 Apr 1826. Horines were a flighty bunch and after living a while in Louisville they had packed up with their 13 children to Indiana by 1848. Does my Mary fit into any of the Dean families in Jessamine Co? I have nothing but her name and dates. I would love to give her some parents and siblings.

I am related to an Abraham Dixon of Wilmore, Kentucky which is in Jessamine County. Abe married Margaret Hunn and had 2 children - Anderson and Ethel. Somewhere in the background is a family name of Yates - I think it was on his mother's side. If this might be a connection - please e-mail me.

I am posting this under my husband's subscription, so please forgive the difference in names. The parents of your Mary Dean were James & Keziah Bunnell Dean. James was born in Virginia in 1768. His parents were Thomas & Sophia Dean. They were supposedly born in Ireland.
I am a 2nd great grand neice to your Mary Dean. So far, I haven't found a connection between the James & Patience in the other post, though I have a lot of Dean information I haven't been able to fit together yet. I hope this helps a little!

Did James and Keziah have a son named James b. abt 1805, married Rachel Nave? I'm looking for the parents of my gggrandfather James Dean (his son Thomas and wife Margaret Turner were my ggrandparents). They lived in Mercer County, but were married in Jessamine.

Would appreciate any help.

I have Rachel Nave Dean as one of the thirteen children of Dr. Peter Nave and his wife Elizabeth Hoover. I have Elizabeth as the daughter of David Hoover, who gave his consent for her marriage to Peter Nave. I believe Peter Nave was the son of Leonard Nave and Margaret Miller. I don't have any information on the Dean family other than Jefferson Dean was bondsman for the marriage of James Dean to Rachel Nave, 16 Aug 1830 in Jessamine County KY.
