Classification: Query
Surnames: Keller
Isaac Keller is my gggrandfather. He was seemingly born abt. 1848 in TN, maybe in Union Marion county.

The first census record I have found for my Isaac is in the 1880 Knox Co KY census :

1880 Knox Co Ky census #434-455 no pg #.
Isaac Keller 30 Tn, parents b Tn,
Sallie A 32 Va,
Loyd Gilliam 17 b 1863 Tn (Sallies' child),
Anderson 9,
Mary J 6,
Susan 2,
Rebecca 4 mo.

This is my Isaac, and Sallie Gilliam is my gggrandmother. I have quite a bit of information for her lineage. She was born March 09, 1847 in Scott County VA, the daughter of Anderson Gillam and Nancy Donaldson.

I believe that there is a marriage recorded in Knox co, KY for Isaac and Sallie Gillam for Sept. 3, 1868 at the Trace Branch Meeting House, Knox County, Kentucky.

Anderson Keller is buried at the Lerose Cemetery in Owsley Co., KY. This is where several of Isaac's children settled and their descendants remain living there to this day.

Anderson's death cert. states : "KELLER, Anderson, Booneville, August 31, 1911, DOB August 19, 1869, Cause of death, Menengitis. Father, Isaac Keller, TN, Mother, Sallie Gillian, TN, Informant, John Keller, Lerose. Cert No., 21962"

I HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO FIND ISAAC UNTIL THE 1880 CENSUS IN KNOX COUNTY !! I have found several "Isaac Kellers", but none of them seem to fit.

It is possible that his given name was "William Isaac", and I am quite sure that the 1870 Knox Co census has Isaac's father and family, although Isaac had already married in 1868.

1870 Barbourville P.O., Knox County,Kentucky, Pg.439b/15?, Roll 480 Bk1, Enumeration Date 23 Aug 1870, Lists:

8 8 Keller, Nicholas 50 M Farmer 150 N.C.
Sarah 51 F Tenn.
Priscilia 17 F "
Andrew J. 14 M "
Greenberry 11 M KY

Where were Nicholas (b. 1820 NC), Sarah (Sarah Hanley b. 1819 Union Co TN)), Priscilla, Andrew J., Greenberry and Isaac before 1870 ?

I am also interested in hearing from any of Nicholas and Sarah's descendants.
