Frank H. Armstrong, 82, of Kuttawa, died Sunday, March 24, 2013, at 5:35 p.m. at Caldwell Medical Center in Princeton.

A son of the late William Frank and Bertha Rowena Hayden Armstrong, he was a member of Suwanee Furnace Baptist Church where he served as deacon for over 40 years, was a 50-year member of the International Union of Operating Engineers local #181 in Paducah, a former member of the Suwanee Airs Quartet in Lyon County, a farmer in Lyon County, retired as the asphalt superintendent for Jim Smith Contracting in Lake City and was a member of Joppa Masonic Lodge #167 in Eddyville.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Joan Armstrong in 1971; and a sister, Josephine Knoth.

Survivors include his wife, Earlene Hyde Armstrong; four sons, Randy Armstrong of Kuttawa, Jeff Armstrong of San Luis Obispo, Calif., Steve Armstrong of Benton and Dwight Armstrong of Englewood, Ohio; a daughter, Valerie Link of Slaughters; a stepdaughter, Vicki Knoth of Kuttawa; a stepson, Thomas Ausenbaugh of Kuttawa; 15 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren; a sister, Nellie Parish of Kuttawa; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Mr. Armstrong will be conducted Thursday, March 28, at 11 a.m. at Dunn’s Funeral Home in Eddyville with the Rev. Nathan Joyce officiating.

Burial will follow in Macedonia Cemetery. (Lyon Co., Ky.)

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
