Tom Strack Sr., 73, of Kuttawa, died Friday, April 5, 2013, at 9:19 a.m. at Baptist Health in Paducah.
A son of the late Clemens Philip Strack Sr. and Otillia Marie Rogers Strack, he had been a carpenter for 48 years, locally being an employee for A&K Construction in Paducah and also Vanguard Construction in Paducah and was former owner of Country Village Flea Market in Suwanee for a number of years. He was of the Catholic faith.
He was preceded in death by four brothers, Donald Strack, Roger Strack, Dick Strack and Joe Strack.
Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Janice Duff Strack; two sons, Tom Strack Jr. of Eddyville and Greg Strack of Benton; a daughter, Laura Hayden of Hickory; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; five sisters, Susie Herhold of Tucson, Ariz., Kay Strack and Mary Revenburgh, both of Highland, Ill., June Retzer of Wood River, Ill., and Tina Akers of Lexington, S.C.; four brothers, Bob Strack of Peoria, Ill., Paul Strack of Fieldon, Ill., David Strack and Clemens Strack Jr., both of Wood River, Ill.; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, April 9, at noon at Lakeland Funeral Home Chapel in Eddyville.
Burial will follow in Macedonia Cemetery in Lyon County.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
