Wayne Thompson, 71, of the Lamasco community of Lyon County, died Thursday, Jan. 30, 2014, at 10:51 p.m. at Jennie Stuart Medical Center in Hopkinsville, following a short illness.
Born Sept. 20, 1942, in Lyon County, a son of the late Dallas and Charlene Robertson Thompson, he was a retired chief executive at the ASCS office for over 40 years and member of Lamasco Baptist Church. He was a 50-year member of the Parkersville Masonic Lodge.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Lindy Thompson; and a sister, Wanda Brown.
Survivors include his wife, Jo Ann Hawkins Thompson; a stepson, Matt Cartwright of Princeton; a stepdaughter, Robin Anderson and husband Joey; four stepgrandchildren, Ramsey Hopper and wife Chelsea, Elijah Anderson, Gracie Cartwright and Maggie Cartwright; a stepgreat-grandchild, Addison Cotton; nephews and nieces, Paul Brown, Marla Gay Brown, Gavin Thompson, Mindy Thompson and Tara Thompson.
Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, Feb. 2, at 3 p.m. at Morgan’s Funeral Home in Princeton, with the Rev. Dean Ray officiating.
Burial will follow in Saratoga Church Cemetery. (Lyon County Ky.)
Visitation will be after 4 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with Masonic services at 7:30 p.m.
