Seek information exchange with researchers concerning the family of ABEL MORGAN who came to Kentucky after 1825 with the BEASLEY family from Wilmington, New Hanover County, North Carolina. They settled in the Paducha/McCracken County area. The family was related somehow to children: Edward E. Morgan and sister Narcissa Amanda Morgan, with Mother Zilpha J. Morgan ( in the 1840 McCracken County census as head of household with the two children). Was Zilpha J. Morgan, Abel Morgan's wife? Any help in piecing together this families connection would be appreciated. My understanding is that Abel Morgan divorced Zilpha, perhaps about 1848, but before doing so went to Texas to fight with the Texas Revolution. He survived the famous battle/massacre of Goliad and lived to tell the story, and was rewarded lands by the Texas Government. Traded 1,000 acres in Texas for lots and property in Paducah to Narcissa Amanda Morgan (his daughter?) Apparently came to Kentucky in the company of the Beasley family, related to the Morgan's as cousins...and later they all went on to Texas. ANY helpful information would be appreciated! Thanks...
