My aunt married Ed Dodd, who had grown up with George M. Chin and they were best friends. We used to visit my aunt in Lousiville and Uncle Ed would sit on the porch with my Daddy and tell stories of his boyhood. One story was about George M. Chin's brother, and I don't recall the name, but it seems he was acosted unawares coming out of the revolving door at the Phoenix Hotel by a man armed with brass knuckles. It had something to do with a woman. Mr. Chinn was badly beaten, and though he knew who the assiliant was, did not prefer charges. That night my uncle and George M. Chin came into the Chin Family hone and George's brother was layed up in bed, badly bruised and beaten. George said to him, "What hit you, the L&N or the C&O?" His brother replied, "You go to Hell!" After recovery he caught the man who had attacked him somewhere in downtown Lexington and beat him severly with his bare hands.
