Leroy Taylor, 69, Danville, Kentucky husband of Peggy Blacketer Taylor, died Monday, May 16, 2005 at the Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center.
Born, June 7, 1935 in Mercer County, KY. he was the son of the late Edwin Lee and Mary Elizabeth Coleman Taylor.
He was a retired employee of Whirlpool and was a member of Pleasant Run Baptist Church.
He was an accomplished musician and was known to his friends as “Dobro Man.”
In addition to his wife, survivors include: two sons, Leroy Taylor, Jr. of Harrodsburg and James Earl Taylor of Junction City; one daughter, Connie S. Gammon, also of Junction City; two brothers, Herman Taylor of Junction City, KY and Fred Darson, Columbus, OHIO; one sister, Carolyn Hardin of Junction City; eight grandchildren, and five step-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, Teresa Ann Taylor; one son, Jerry Lee Taylor, and one sister, Ruby Harrison.
Funeral services will be today, Thursday, at 11 a.m. at the Alexander and Royalty Funeral Home with Bro. Junior Fields officiating.
Burial will be in the Spring Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be David, Tommy and Jimmy Harrison, Doug Taylor, Harrison and Russell Hardin, Howard Warner, and Ernie Prather.
Honorary pallbearers will be grandchildren.
Visitation Wednesday from 5 until 9 p.m. and Thursday after 7 a.m. at the funeral home.
