Arthur Brandon (son of Jean Todd and John Brandon, Sr. [ca 1742 - 1776/77]) was the nephew of William Brandon (1746-1818) who married 1785-Pennsylvania Jane Dodds. This William Brandon (1746-1818) and wife Jane Dodds moved from South Carolina to Smith Co., TN in 1817.

The William Brandon who left a will in Union Co., SC Feb. 11, 1801 (see copy here: http://www.rootsweb.com/~scunion/brandon.html) identified his nephew William as being the son of his brother Thomas Brandon, that is, Col./General Thomas Brandon.

Harrison Brandon (mentioned in the above William Brandon will-1801) married the stepdaughter of General Thomas Brandon i.e., Sarah Elizabeth Harlin, daughter of George Harlin and Rebecca Bogan Harlin Brandon. What is unknown about Harrison Brandon is his parents. Is he the brother of Arthur, John Jr.- known sons of John Brandon (1742-1776/77) and Jean Todd?

Is James Brandon (ca. 1768-1857) a brother of Arthur Brandon? James Brandon is included in the Monroe Co., KY tax lists 1803-1845. He is also on the census list 1810-1850. On the 1850 Monroe Census his age is recorded as 82, and in his household are listed Elizabeth Brandon, Dorinda, and John Vaughn (age 18).

What is the relationship between James Brandon and Arthur Brandon? They witnessed the same legal documents in Union Co., SC - wills and deeds.
