Capt. Matthew Mullins (Richard6, Gabriel5, Matthew4, Richard3,Matthew2, Abraham Moulin1) was b. August 26, 1827 in Pendleton Co., Kentucky and d. April 2, 1903 in PendletonCo.,Kentucky. He m. Anna McGill September 27, 1852in Pendleton Co., Kentucky d/o Anthony McGill and Mary Baxter. She was b. March 22, 1835, and died July 12, 1926. They are both buried in Riverside Cemetery, Falmouth, Pendleton Co., Kentucky. MATTHEW MULLINS IS THE YOUNGER BROTHER OF BENJAMIN BERRY MULLINS BOTH THE SONS OF RICHARD MULLINS AND REBECCA BERRY.

Matthew Mullins was instrumental in raising the 18th Regiment Kentucky Infantry mostly from Pendleton Co. and the
surrounding counties. He rose to Col. in this unit until hesustained a wound in the leg while fighting in the old city cemetery in Richmond, Kentucky during the defense against Gen. E. Kirby Smith's spearhead toward Cincinnati.
He rose to the rank of Lt. Col. and was mustered out as the Commanding Officer of the 40th Regiment Kentucky Mounted Infantry, U.S.A. The 40th participated in the the Union expedition to get control of Saltville, Virginia.

4. Rebecca Berry Mullins, b. 1860 in Pendleton Co.,Kentucky; d. 1877.

5. Richard H. Mullins, b. 1862 in Pendleton Co., Kentucky; d. 1864.
6. Maggie Chenault Mullins, b. 1865 in Pendleton Co., Kentucky; d. 1865.

7. Anna Mullins, b. 1865; d. 1865.
