I'm new to this list. I'm trying to research the Richards family who came to Russell county in the early 1800's. My 4x great-grandfather was Aaron Richards who came from Ireland in 1801. Don't know when he got to Russell County but I do know that his son Amos and wife Barbara lived and raised a family in Russell Springs. He died in 1875. He had 9 children, Andrew, Mary, Daniel, Aaron, John Harland, Sarah (aka Jane), James Oliver and Elisabeth Ann. James Oliver was my 2x great-grandfather. James married Mary Teal"Polly" and had 13 children, Warner Bell, Barbara Ann, Sarah Elizabeth, Joseph William, Polly Stokes, Mary, Melinda, John Logan, James Osage and after Polly's death married Mary Jane Calhoun and had 4 more children, Melvin, Mary Catherine, Cora B. and Amos Brice. My great-grandfather was Warner Bell Richards. He and his wife Elizabeth lived just outside of Russell Springs and raised their family of Lee, Marcus, Walter, Nora, Clara and James Lilburn. My grandfather James Lilburn had my dad, John William ("Billy")& his brother James who were both raised by their grandparents Warner Bell & Elizabeth.
All of this to say that if anybody out there is looking for the same, I would love to chat & share info!
Thanks so much!
