Kentucky's town, city, and county names were chosen (so I'm convinced, anyway) to confuse those of us who pursue the trails of the departed. Case in point:
Juanita Faye Morris Malone's obituary states she and Walter were married in 1949 in Ashland, Boyd County (not to confused with Boyle County), Ky., in the far northeastern part of the state. The town of Russell (not to be confused with Russellville or Russell County) is in adjoining Greenup County (not to be confused with Green County), some five miles upriver from Ashland.
Russell County (where this query was posted) is a bit over 200 miles southeast of Russell (the town) and Ashland.
