I am interested in Francis M. Smith who married Martha F. Triplett in Scott County in 1847. They owned the Robert
Burbridge House and 41 acres in 1885. According to the
1850 census Francis was an innkeeper and grocer. The Echoes of The Past, Stamping Ground, mention a tavern and inn at this location -- but, in the 1790's. Does anyone
know the full story. Francis M. Smith was my great grandfather and I am very interested in knowing the whole story. My father told me about a mill also that was owned
by a Smith. Looking forward to hearing about the Stamping
Ground, Kentucky (Scott County) stories.
