Thanks for your response, but my John Hadley/Mills was diffently born in 1753. I seen his headstone, believe it or not in a small cemetery in the middle of a corn field in Blackford co. Indiana. It was quite the experience. To make the story really interesting, I believe the D.A.R. put his headstone in the wrong cemetery, according to a county biography. What I really need is proof of his name change.
