YOUNGSTOWN, OH –Ms. Ramona Byrd, who passed away on Aug. 26, 2013, at St. Elizabeth Health Center, surrounded by her loving family.
Ms. Byrd was born July 17, 1936, in Bowling Green, Ky., a daughter of Daniel E. and Mamie Lee Triggs Byrd.
Ramona had been employed with General Electric as a machine operator in the Austintown Coil Plant, for over 25 years, retiring in 2000.
She enjoyed, crossword puzzles, bingo, and was a member of the National Travelers Bowling League.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her loving daughter, Rhonda L. Byrd of Youngstown, Ohio; two brothers, Ronald Byrd of St. Louis, and Daniel Byrd of Indianapolis; five sisters, Maryann Robinson and Linda Jordan, both of Indianapolis, Indiana, Janice Ray of Bowling Green, Ky., Brenda Brown of Surpise, Ariz., and Theresa Byrd of Orlando, Fla.; two grandchildren, Latrice and Shante’ Jefferson; three great-grandchildren, LaQueza, Jordan and Noah Jefferson; one great-great-grandchild, Kevaeh Henderson; and a host of loving family and friends.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Larry “Monk Jones” Byrd; two brothers, Bobby and William Byrd; and two sisters, Rilma Brown and LaVerne Johnson.
Memorial services will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 4, 2013, at 2:30 p.m. at the L.E. Black, Phillips & Holden Funeral Home, Youngstown, Ohio.
