My name is Joe Buford and I am in the process of trying to locate descendants of Demarquis Buford.
I have researched my Buford line to Demarquis (Demarcus) D.? BUFORD (BAUFORD)born~1820 in Bedford Co. VA. married 8 Jun 1843 to Mary Ann HAYNES also in Bedford VA. 4 Children: Elizabeth, William, Nancy and Samuel.
Demarquis married again after Mary Ann's death, to Lethia Ann HARDESTY, 12 Dec 1854 in KY, 10 children:Mark Isaac, James, Mary, Joseph B, Maggie, Alice, Bob, Blanche, Millie and Jimmy all born in Meade or Graves Co.'s, KY. My direct line then moved to Cochise Co., AZ. I am descended from Mark Isaac.
Mark's wife was Susan Ann ARNOLD. Her father, Joseph Eli Arnold(my father & Gfather are named for him)was married in Meade Co. to Mahala MATTINGLY in 1857. Joseph Eli Arnold's Father was Baz Arnold. He married Leathy Ann SMITH at Rolling Fork, Washington Co. KY in 1825.
I have been told that the Demarquis (Demarcus)name does NOT appear in the BUFORD Ancestry book. The alternate spellings come from different family members and from "Bedford County Marriage Bonds". ANY info on ANY of these people mentioned will be greatly appreciated.
