This is the info I have from a relative:
David Sloan was born bet. 1713-1756 in Belfast Co, Antrim, N. Ireland and died bet. 1810-1830 in Wythe Co, VA. He married Martha Watson bef. 1769 (I believe this was his second marriage). Their children: James (02/19/1769 Rockbridge Co, VA- 01/15/1853, Meadow Creek, Wayne County, KY); Benjamin (I read somewhere he moved from VA to KY in 1798); John; Samuel; Margaret; William (married Matilda Burnett in Patrick Co, VA); Sarah; Mary. James is buried in the Sloan family cemetary in KY (I've seen the gravesite; it's by where a big Civil War battle- Mill Springs; James married Jane Thompson (04/12/1792) in Taswell Co, VA. She was born 04/14/1769 in Rockbridge Co. VA and died 10/19/1831 in Meadow Creek, Wayne Co., KY. James' second marriage was Frances "Fanny" Rousseau. James and Jane's children include: William, David, Thompson, James Jr, Martha, Lydia, Harvey (12/15/1805 in Wayne Co, KY 11/12, 1886, Wayne Co,KY- he's also buried in the Sloan cemetary), Manerva, Nancy, Jannettie, Christian. Harvey Sloan married Emily Mold Daugherty on July 2, 1829 in Wayne Co, KY, daughter of A Daughtery and Celia Moad. Children of Harvey and Emily: Vianner, James, Celia, Anderw, Mary, Fannie, Emily,Minerva, William, George, Julia, Amanda.
I have a big family history tree, and thankfully, I had info on Harvey and it continues on through Andrew (Harvey's son) to Emmett Sloan (Harvey's grandson)- who is my great-grandfather. I live in Kentucky and have taken a great interest in my family. Unfortunately, there are few left here as they immigrated to Ohio during WWII. I would love to hear what you know about the Sloan's. Please let me know- maybe we could email some info back and forth?
Thank you, Jessica
