Surnames: UPTON, JOHNSTON, MARCUM, ELLIS, NICHOLAS, CALDWELL, OWSLEY, SCOTT, BARNES, CANADY, WINTON
Benjamin Upton m. Sarah Barnes in 1800 Pulaski Co. He served in the WAr of 1812 with Capt. Henry James in Jennings 2nd Kentucky Regiment Militia. Their children are as follows: Nancy b. 1803 (m. George Johnston), James b. 1804 (m. Millia Marcum), Denicia b. 1805/1809 (m. Enoch Ellis), Ozias b. 1809 (m. Matilda Nicholas), Commodore b. 1814 (m. Nalavander _______), Solomon b. 1818 (m. Nancy Caldwell), Louis b. 1819 twin (m. Margaret_________), John b. 1819 twin ( m. Chloe Owsley), Benjamin Jr. b. 1823 (m. Minerva Scott), Sally b. 1825 no info. after 1840 This family was in Wayne Co Ky from 1800 to 1842 when many of them migrated to Texas Co. Mo, also Johnson & Cole Co's Mo. Though a few did remain well after the civil war. If anyone has an interest in any of the surnames or an interest in the War of 1812. Please contact me. I do have a lot of information but, also have some gaps that need to be filled.
