Ida Kenney Risque Harper, a member of a well-known Midway family and a former teacher, died January 9, 1994. She was the daughter of the late Dr. William E. and Ida Kenney Risque. She attended public schools in Midway and graduated in 1925 from the University of Kentucky. Upon graduation she taught school in Falmouth, Lexington and Fayette County schools until the birth of her first son. After the death of her husband in 1950 she taught eighth grade at Midway College, then known as Midway Junior College, and Pinkerton High School. She later became dean of residents and mathematics teacher until her retirement. For most of her life she was a member of the Midway Presbyterian Church, but more recently had been a member of the Pisgah Presbyterian Church, Versailles. Survivors are two sons, Henry Alexander Harper Jr., Santa Monica, Calif., and Lee Warley Harper, Versailles; a nephew, William Risque Harper, Ruther Glen, Va.; 6 grandchildren and 3 great-nieces. Services will be conducted January 14 at the Pisgah Presbyterian Church.
