Killed Three Pelicans

Last Tuesday morning three pelicans were killed at the lake near Madisonville. Nat MORTON killed one and Tom JACKSON killed two of the birds. One of the pelicans measured eight feet from tip to tip of wing. They are birds that are exceedingly rare in this portion of the country. It is said that one was killed in this county about eighteen years ago. (Source: Madisonville Hustler, Fri., Nov. 6, 1896)
