Ellis Beeny, 81, of 607 8th St., Holly Hill, Florida, died in his home at 4 a.m. today after a long illness.
A native of Hopkins County, he was born Feb. 9, 1896, the youngest child of the late Mr. and Mrs. A.A. Beeny. He had lived in Hopkins County all of his life, until moving to Florida about nine years ago.
He was a retired barber and state highway department employee.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Cammie Clayton Beeny, of Holly Hill; two daughters, Mrs. A.O. Brown and Mrs. Hiram Bassett, both of Madisonville, and two sons, J.D. Beeny, Morganfield, and Harvey Beeny, Madisonville; 12 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; a brother, George T. Beeny, Route 1, Manitou; a sister, Mrs. Linda Haley, Madisonville, and a host of nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.
The body is being returned to Harris Funeral Home. Funeral plans were incomplete today.
