INJURY FATAL TO MINER, 29
Timmons Harris, 26, fomerly of near this city, died at the Jennie Stuart Hospital, Hopkinsville early Monday from injuries he suffered in the Nortonville mine at 1 o'clock Sunday morning.
Harris, employee of the Norton Coal Mining Company, was riding on the top of a motor in the mine. When the motor reached a trap door he attempted to push it open with his feet. He missed the door and his feet struck against the door casing. The moving motor doubled Harris' feet over his head as it passed through the door, crushing his body, breaking his back and injuring his neck. He survived his injuries twenty-four hours.
Harris is survived by his wife and two children. A brother, Lonnie Harris, resides in this city.
The body was conveyed to Nortonville Monday afternoon. Funeral services will be held at the Madisonville Pentecostal church at 1 o'clock Tuesday afternoon. Burial will be in Odd Fellows cemetery.
