MAYFIELD, Ky. — A memorial service for Arthur Richard Emerick, 83, of Mayfield will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, where he was a member. Danny Miller will officiate.

Mr. Emerick died at 2:50 p.m. Tuesday at Jackson Purchase Medical Center.

He was a pilot for the Navy and the Air Force during World War II, the Korean War and the Vietnam War. Mr. Emerick was a registered clown and taught clown school. He was a Shriner and a member and past district governor of the Lions Club.

Surviving are four sons, Shannon Wallace Emerick of Las Vegas, Tim Emerick of Hampton, S.C., Jim Emerick of San Diego, and Mark Emerick of Phoenix; one daughter, Christina Emerick of Scottsdale, Ariz.; and several grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Verna Bell Emerick. His parents were Herbert Luther Emerick and Priscilla Stratton Emerick.

Friends may call after 1 p.m. Saturday at the church. Brown Funeral Home in Mayfield is in charge of arrangements.
