Mrs. Betty Wood Blane, died Sunday afternoon at 4:30 p.m. at the Futrell Clinic following an illness of several weeks.
Mrs. Blane was a native of Roaring Spring, having been born in that community, January 15, 1872 and spent her entire 75 years in that community. She was the daughter of John Wood and Nancy Grinter Wood who came to this county from Logan county.
The deceased was a member of the Roaring Spring Methodist church where she had united early in life and remained a faithful member until death.
On October 22, 1893 she was united in marriage to Jefferson D. Blane, who preceded her to the grave in January 1939. Three children were born tot his union of whom two also have passed away. There is one son surviving Gregory Blane of Roaring Spring.
Funeral services were conducted Tuesday afternoon at 2:00 pm. at the Pee Dee Methodist church with the Rev. George Warren officiating. Burial following in the family burial ground at Pee Dee.
Pallbearers were Leon Clark, Dick Ledford, Charlie Miller, Lacy Joiner, John Bacon and Winston Tuggle.
