Mary Lou Spillars Clark
Mary Lou Spillars Clark, 90, Henderson, passed away at 12:32 p.m. Thursday, April 25, 2013, at her home while under the loving care of her family along with St. Anthony’s Hospice.
She was born in 1922 to William and Katherine Spillars. Mary was a charter member of Chapel Hill United Methodist Church. She was a housewife and a devoted mother to her four children. Mary loved crocheting, knitting, quilting, gardening and bird watching.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Edward Clark, who died in 1991; one daughter, Lois Marie Newton; four sisters; and three brothers.
Survivors include two daughters, Doris Faye Clark and Shirley Diane Peckenpaugh and her husband, Randy, both of Henderson; one son, Norris Ray Clark and his wife, Donna, of Henderson; one sister-in-law, Helen Hill of Henderson; five grandchildren, Britt Newton, Carol Newton, Michelle Peckenpaugh, Sabrina Peckenpaugh Smither and Alyson Clark; four great-grandchildren, Brianna Scott, Carly Nations, Ashton Smither and William Smither; and three great-great-grandchildren, Alisha Scott, Bryan Scott and Caylen Scott.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Mary’s Life Celebration from 4 to 8 p.m. today and again on Monday starting at 10 a.m. at Tapp Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be at noon Monday at the funeral home. The Rev. Hollis Marshall will officiate. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to St. Anthony’s Hospice.

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — The Rev. Leon Powell, 72, Springfield, formerly of Henderson, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, April 27, 2013.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Ellen Powell; his father, Art Powell; and one son, Timothy Leon Powell.
