Richard “Knucklehead” Ray Brown, 80, of Madisonville, KY, passed away Tuesday, August 14, 2012 at the Western Kentucky Veterans Center in Hanson, KY.
He was born March 22nd, 1932 in Hopkins County, KY to the late Richard Henry Brown and Pansy Grace Patterson Brown. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Vaneeda Jean Brown, one sister, Dorothy Elizabeth Brown Mitchell, and one son, Richard E. Brown.
Mr. Brown was a member of VFW and the American Legion. He was also a Korean War veteran and an avid CB’er.
He is survived by two daughters, Dorothy Yvonne Clark of Madisonville, Sandra Kay Cook of Dawson Springs, KY; one son, Douglas Ray Brown of Dawson Springs, and two brothers, Robert “Bobby” Brown and Charles Brown, both of Madisonville; six grandchildren, and six great grandchildren.
Funeral service will be 1:00 P.M. Friday at Barnett-Strother Funeral Home with Rev. Nathan Bruce officiating. Burial and Military services will follow at Grapevine Cemetery in Madisonville, KY.
Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Thursday and after 12:00 P.M. Friday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Michael Brown, Phillip Clark, Terry Brown, Wayne Mitchell, Everett Mitchell, Wayne Larkins. Honorary Pallbearers will be “KW” Billy Wall and James Brown.
