1840 Lawrence County, KY Census shows

Henry B. Goodwin between the age of 20 and 30,
one male under age 5,
one female under age 5 (if Frances was born in 1836 in 1840 she would have been 4 and this could be her),
one female between the age of 15 and 20,
one female between the age of 20 and 30 ( this is most likely Jane).

The 1840 census only lists the name of head of household. Other family members are listed in age groups only, no names are given. It was not until the 1850 census that all names and exact age was given for each family member.
In the little article called "Early Methodists in Louisa," there is an interesting entry.

".....From 1836 to 1837, the Louisa Circuit was established and Rev. Robert Y. McReynolds was the appointed circuit rider. During this time period, the church property was deeded to the official circuit rider for that time. On May 10, 1842, a deed was issued from Rev. Henry B. Goodwin to Rev. Stephen A. Rathburn designating that Rev. Rathburn and his successors (i.e., the circuit preachers) be conveyed the Methodist Episcopal Church, one house, known as the church, or meeting house, upon the south part of the public square......"

In the 1880 Delaware, Jefferson Co.,Kansas census,
I found Francis with 4 of her children.

Francis 45 keeping home KY / VA /VA
Hidella 17 (son) farmer KY /Eng / Ky
Harrison H. 16 KY / Eng / KY
Hortense 7 KY / Eng /Ky

Now, the interesting part. Francis is living nest door to her brother Charles A. & his wife Elizabeth. I would assume after James' death, with her brother living in Kansas, he would be what brought her there.

Mrs. Frances Williams dead

After an illness of less than a week , with obstruction of the bowels, Mrs. Frances Williams died at the home of her daughter , Mrs. R. Brisco ,in Allen, Kansas, Tuesday evening . Aug. 14th, at 7:30 , aged 64 years.

Mrs. Williams had been failing for some time, but her complaint was not considered serious until last week, when the best physicians were summoned, who decided an operation was necessary to save her life, to which she objected, and died as she lived, a faithful devoted Christian, who suffered intensely before death, but passed away fearlessly and peacefully with strength in the Lord.

Frances A. Goodwin was born at Louisa, Kentucky, Aug.8th 1836 and at the age of 15 joined the Baptist Church in which she was always a devoted worker. She was married at the home of her birth to Henry James Williams at the age of 22.
She leaves six children, four girls and two boys ,all of whom survive her, those unable to attend were, for Mrs. Julia Haughn, of Ochelata, I.T. and Harrison H. Williams of Richardson, Kentucky. Those present were, Mrs. Emma J Brisco,Mrs. Elizabeth Moore of Ozgukie, Jefferson county, Kansas, C.H.Williams of Hot Springs, Arkansas. Hortense Williams of Topeka and C.A . Goodwin and wife . brother of the deceased of Topeka.

Funeral services were held at the M.P. chuch where she was a devoted member, Wednesday evening at 6:00, conducted by Rev. Morgan , after which the remains were taken to the Allen cemetery, followed by a score of sorrowing relatives and friends, who assembled at the grave, where services were held, to pay their last sad tributes to the dead. The casket was decorated with beautiful flowers , before being lowered into the grave and Rev. Morgan spoke for the last time a few words of consolation and hope over the remains. Mr. and Mrs. Brisco and other relatives have the sympathy of our people in this their sad hour of life.

Mrs. Elizabeth Jane Vermillion Goodwin ,wife of C.A. Goodwin, died last night about 12 o'clock at the residence, 1935 Lincoln street, at the age of 62 years. Death was the result of congestion of the lungs. Mrs. Goodwin leaves behind five sons, A.G.Goodwin, Dr. L., Dr. J.H., M.H., and J.D., and three daughters, Mollie,Lillie, and Rose. Mrs. Goodwin leaves a large number of friends, and was a member of the First Baptist Church of this city. The funeral will be announced later.

I suspect this is Elizabeth Vermillion Goodwin and the last three children are hers and CA Goodwins children.
