I expected that in that time period. People with experience or apprenticeship would don veterinary surgeon as an occupation. I am new at genealogy research and other than 2 censuses with his occupation listed as veterinary surgeon have very little information on his practice or history. I had searched Iowa State University's veterinary graduates but did not see his name on that. I am definitely interested in a complete list of the veterinary schools that no longer exist. It would be nice to try to figure out if he had any educational training, apprenticeship, or just on the job training. Also, I mistyped about veterinary history books. I was looking for the Iowa veterinary medicine history books and if you had the name of those books, it would be greatly appreciated. My email address is callen1358 at yahoo dot com. Thank you for all your help and giving me some ideas on where to continue this search.
