I'm researching the YONTS family line, most of whom now reside in Letcher County, Kentucky (or more generally, the southern States).
The earliest Yonts I've been able to trace is WILLIAM YOUNCE SR., born between 1770-1776, in either Lincoln County, North Carolina, or somewhere in Pennsylvania. (William's father may have been LAWRENCE YONCE, born about 1750, perhaps in NC.)
William married MARGARET BENTLEY, born between 1765-1775, in Rowan County, NC. William and Margaret had four children:
1) SARAH YONTS (b. 1794-1804).
2) MARY "POLLY" YONTS (b. 1800-1802).
3) SOLOMON YONTS (b. July 15, 1806).
4) WILLIAM YONTS, JR. (b. 1808).
Though I'm primarily interested in the Yonts family, I'm also researching family lines associated with them: ADAMS; AMBURGEY; ARNETT; BAKER; BARNETT; BENTLEY; BLAIR; BLAKENEY; BLANKENSHIP; BROWN; BUNTIN; BURKES; BUSH; CAUDILL; COLLIER; COLLINS; COMBS, CONTE; COOK; CRAFT; CROOK; ELLIOT; FIELDS; FITZPATRICK; FLEMING; FOUCH; FRANKLIN; FREEMAN; FUGATE; GIBSON; HALCOMB; HALE; HALL; HIGGINS; HITCHCOCK; HOLBROOK; HOUSTON; HUGES; HUSTIN; HUSTON; ISAACS; JANTZ; JENT; JOHNSON; KAISER; KELLY; KIDD; KINDRED; KING; KNITEZE; MADDEN; McCRAY; MEAD; MEADE; MOORE; MULLINS; NANTZ; NAPIER; NEAL; NELSON; NEWSOM; PARKIN; PASS; PATRICK; PETREY; QUILLEN; QUILLIN; RAY; SANDERS; SCHIMDT; SEXTON; SIZEMORE, SLOANE; SMALLWOOD; SMITH; STEWART; SULLIVAN; TAYLOR; THORNSBERRY; TOLLEVER; TOLLIVER; VENTERS; WEBB; WHITAKER; WILSON; WITT; WRIGHT.
I'm particularly interested in ESQUIRE E. YONTS (b. April 30, 1874, Letcher Co., KY), his wife MARY FRANCIS WRIGHT (b. Jan. 27, 1872, Letcher Co.,KY), and their 10 children: 1) LUCRETIA M.; 2) JAMES M.; 3) WESLEY C.; 4) CLARA W.; 5) SANORA M.; 6) LOVICIA Q.; 7) ROY EDWARD; 8) CRIT; 9) ARTIE B.; and 10) GEORGE L.
I'm also very interested in the JANTZ (or JANSS) family line, the probable European ancestors of the American YONTS family. The Germanic-French-Swiss JANTZs, from Alsatia, probably originally emigrated to PA, before migrating south to NC and KY, etc.
If you have any information on any of these individuals or family lines, please e-mail me. I'd like to complete our family tree and connect with relatives. Naturally, I'd be happy to share whatever data I have with others.
