The Rev. and Mrs. David F. McCormick, former residents of Dixon and Poole, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with an open house held in their honor on Sunday afternoon, May 4, from 2 until 5 o'clock, at the home of Mr. and Mrs. J.F. Davis in Ferguson, Mo.
Mr. and Mrs. McCormick, now of Hannibal, Mo., were married in Webster County, Ky., on May 2, 1908. He received his ministerial training at the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, Louisville, and held several pastorates in this state before moving to St. Louis, Mo., as pastor to Temple Baptist Church.
The Rev. Mr. McCormick was called as first pastor to Pine Lawn Baptist Church, Pine Lawn, Mo., and has also held several other Missouri pastorates. More recently, he and Mrs. McCormick moved to the Hannibal, Mo. area to become pastor of Antioch Baptist Church. He retired from this position, and also from active ministry, early this year.
They have one son, Glen D., of Spring Valley, Calif.; three daughters, Mrs. H. Hegeman and Mrs. J. F. Davis of Ferguson, and Mrs. A. Milner of Hannibal, Mo. they have seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. **
