Nineteen students from Webster County are among the 1,611 students enrolled at Western
Kentucky State College, Bowling Green, for the 1959 summer term, according to figures released this week by Registrar E.H. Canon.
Dr. Kelly Thompson, president of Western, stated that is the largest summer term enrollment since the mid-1930's.
Summer school will close on August 7. Commencement exercises for the summer graduates will be held in the Western Stadium on August 7 at 7:30 p.m.
The fall semester will open on September 15.
Students from Webster County are: Katherine Wilson, Sarah Head, Victoria Harkins, Betty Oakley, Donald Walker, Mary Lou Ramsey and Alice Stull, Providence; Michael Jenkins, Jimmie Carrol Nelson, David Ross Jennings and Linda Hopper, Clay; Margaret M. Sherrell, Billy Hugh Chandler, Bobby Rakestraw and Ann Moore Knight, Dixon; Eleanor Bridwell, Poole; Carol Zerfoss, Sebree; Doris M. Phelps, Wheatcroft; and Carol Ashby, Robards.
