J. S. McKendrick died at St. Joseph's Hospital in Lexington, Ky., Tuesday night after a protraced illness. The body was taken to the home of his daughter, Mrs. F. F. Waller at 356 Madison Place. He was born in Franklin County, June 13, 1833, and in 1880 came to Lexington and engaged in the lumber business, being associated with F. F. Waller, the firm name being McKendrick and Waller, with office on Main Street, where now stands the Phoenix National Bank. He was in business about a year when his health failed and he then retired from business and moved to Shelbyville, Ky., where he had since made his home.
