Larry Edward Childers, 63, husband of Sheila Childers, died Monday, December 12, 2011 at Hospice Care Center. Born in Lexington, he was a son of the late Leslie and Rose Childers. He worked at Powell Optical for 30 years, retired from Jessamine Optical, and was a Vietnam Marine veteran. Survivors other than his wife are four children, Alicia (Joey) Jacobs, Perryville, Melanie (Lewis) Abner, Nicholasville, Angel (Terry) Wilson, Eaton, Ohio, and Heather (Christopher) Norman, Nicholasville; eleven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be 12 p.m. at Kerr Brothers Funeral Home-Main Street. Burial will be in Blue Grass Memorial Gardens, Jessamine County, Kentucky.
