Please, I need assistance tracing the origins of my family name, Sobert, into Louisiana, from Canada, France, possibly Germany. . I have Andre Sobert (no birthdate, probably late 1700's or early 1800)marrying (no date) Marie Anne Dubois (b about 1802). They had a son, Jean Marie (Maurice?)Sobert, b 1830, marrying Marie Clemance Fremin 17 June 1867 in Labadieville, Assumption Parish, LA. I believe they spent their lives in and around the parishes of Assumption, Ascension, Lafourche,and possibly the German Coast.

Could possibly have lived in Iberville Parish (only a guess).
