Surnames: gosman, mendez, domingues, la salle,
Gosman and Gusman are both of jewish ancestry, but they are ashkenazi, if my memory serves correct. The lake Charles jewish community would have more info on that. As for as the spanish; any name ending in ...es, ...ez is of spanish jewish origin. I.E. mendez, mendes, dominguez, domingues, so on so forth, before the french there were spanish in louisiana, and before them there was native americans. it is a very intensive study but its worth it every step of the way. Some louisiana french names such as Breaux, La Salle are also of jewish ancestry. LeJeune(probably not written correctly) was also found in new orleans synagogue records.
