Surnames: LeBlanc, D'Entremont
I have been researching my LeBlanc "Louisiana Cajun" ancestors, who came from Nova Scotia in the 1770's. I found that one of them, Phillip Muis D'Entremont, was of the French Nobilty and a descendent of the French Kings and Charlemagne. His lineage even goes back further through other Nation's nobilty to Emperor Constantine. I was surprised I thought Cajuns were just humble "blue collar" french yeoman, whose known lineage stopped around the 1600's. Is that true or are there other ancient French Nobles genealogies in the Cajun story?
