I have some information out of a book that I have copied. The book was title "McDowells in America: A Genealogy" written by Dorothey Kelley MacDowell.

In this information, it says:

Thomas McDowell, b. in S.C., 3-13-1779, d. 8-23-1834, m. 1-4-1821 to Mary Laster ( 5-25-1803 to 2-18-1869)

Their children:

John G. (B. 12-18-1821 perhaps S. C., D.5-27-1881, Bienville Parish, LA; buried on old homeplace, Ringgold, LA; married on 2-2-1848 in Barbour County, AL to Martha A. Jones, 1824-1906, Bienville Parish)

Eliza Ann, b: 8-10-1823

Mary Jane, b: 11-30-1826

Martha Washington, b: 3-19-1829

Sarah, b. 5-31-1831

James T. B: 6-8-1833 in S.C., D: 1-12-1893 in Red River Parish, LA
