John A Harrell is a maternal great great grandfather of mine. He married Eliza Simmons. Her parents are Luke R Simmons and (we think) Priscilla Soule' Simmons. He was a state legislator in Pike County, Alabama, and before that served in the state legislature of North Carolina, from Columbus County. He is credited with the naming of Troy, Alabama.
Elder (Rev) John Ausborn Harrell officiated at the marriage of his son Rev George Mercer Harrell to Emma Caroline Prothro 22 October 1872 at Saline, Louisiana. Witnesses were T.B. Harrell and F. l. Hardy. Wedding took place at the bride's brother's house, Thomas L. Prothro. This wedding certificate is in the Harrell family bible of George Mercer Harrell which I now have. I too have grave photos taken at Mount Lebanon Cemetery. Hope this is of use to you. - AJ Frederick email@example.com
